Treles Layne, LMSW is a native of New Iberia, Louisiana where she attended Westgate High School until 2013, receiving a high school diploma. Ms. Layne received a Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration in Child, Family, and Social Services from Nicholls State University (NSU) in 2017. After completing her undergraduate studies, Ms. Layne enrolled at Southern University at New Orleans to pursue her passion in the field of Social Work. In 2019, Ms. Layne obtained her Master of Social Work (MSW) degree. Ms. Layne has been a Certified Social Worker since 2019 and a Licensed Master Social Worker since 2023. Ms. Layne spent a few years living in Texas, working at Texas DFPS Child Advocacy Center and providing CPST and PSR to youth and adults at an outpatient agency. After missing the Louisiana culture, Ms. Layne relocated to Lafayette, LA. Ms. Layne has experience working in outpatient settings, while providing services to children, teenagers, adults, and families. Ms. Layne has experience helping individuals access community resources and intervening with children and their families in various settings such as Child Services and Investigations, Child Advocacy Center, and Education.

 

As a woman transitioning from poverty, Ms. Layne understands the unique challenges related to adjusting to life changes and difficulty reaching goals in life in an unequal and unjust way. Ms. Layne's passion for empowering others, along with personal and professional experience allows her to strive towards making lasting impacts on children, adults, and their families.

 

Ms. Layne's goal is to provide a safe, confidential environment to discuss challenges, learn skills to address challenges, and support youth and their families in advocating for themselves to get the resources and tools needed to thrive.
